Sampa The Great

We are very excited and proud to have Sampa The Great, a young hip hop artist originally from Zambia but based in Melbourne, Australia, opening the stage at the Théâtre de la Mer on July 2nd. Rapper, songwriter and poet, she is recognized for her powerful music that combines rap, spoken word and African influences.

 

Her albums “The Return” and “As Above, So Below” confirmed her status as a committed and innovative artist, celebrating African and feminine identity through deep lyrics and hard-hitting rhythms.

Awarded multiple times, notably at the Australian Music Prize, Sampa The Great is much more than just a rapper: she is a storyteller, a visual artist who transforms each of her performances into a complete artistic experience. Her performance promises to be an intense moment of sharing and emotion, where music becomes a real bridge between cultures and people.
