Wayo

Founder of the record shop & bar Le Discopathe in Montpellier, Wayo has been active on the music scene since 2013. He is the curator of Tropical Rythmos, a monthly event focused on Afro-descendant music. Yet, he avoids labeling his selections—deeply eclectic and inspired by modern productions that transcend eras and borders.

A resident on Piñata Radio since 2018, he shares his unfiltered musical vision there, highlighting discoveries and encounters through his open-minded sets. Driven by a passion for so-called “tropical” music—especially Jamaican sounds—Wayo is also a devoted collector of experimental and electronic music. His work now revolves around his record store, where every carefully selected vinyl and project reflects his unique musical path.
